"To be or not to be, that is the question."

“To be or not to be, that is the question”.  If you are a Shakespeare fan you’ll recognize this line from Hamlet.  But for me, given the work of healing that we do, I make this change to that famous line: To be (in therapy) or not to be (in therapy); that is the question.  Many have wondered and asked themselves this; maybe you too have asked yourself whether or not therapy is right for you.

I found the following blog article quite insightful on the subject and tend to agree with the author:

Everyone Should Be in Therapy by Thomas Moore

Everyone can benefit.  Everyone finds themselves in situations where they need to explore, process or face things.  Everyone bumps into difficulties now and then (or difficulties tend to “bump” into us).

If you are someone who likes the more descriptive and detailed explanation of things, you will find the following article helpful in describing psychotherapy and it’s benefits:

The Benefits of Psychotherapy by Sam Goldstein, Ph.D

Lastly, for those of you who have a sense of humor and enjoy fun things, here are two short clips about psychotherapy.  Although they focus on a licensed psychologist, any trained mental health professional can be of help in your journey to finding peace, healing and a better quality of life.  Enjoy!
