Meet Shahna L. Duerksen, MA, AMFT

Shahna

We are thrilled to welcome Shahna L. Duerksen, MA, AMFT to our talented team of therapists.

Shahna is an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist who enjoys walking alongside others in their mental health journeys. She works with;

  • Young adults, women and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, life transition, relationship and career direction challenges.

  • Adoptive parents of children with mental health challenges.

  • Partners of sex addicts.

Promoting personal growth, hope, and healing, Shahna believes in the power of presence and ‘with-ness’ with her clients. She seeks to sit "with" someone in their pain, speak their name, validate their experiences, mourn their losses and cheer with their joys.

Shahna draws on psychodynamic as well as various therapeutic approaches that best fit the individual client and needs. She seeks to create a collaborative experience where current issues, symptoms and patterns are looked at from past and childhood/early life experiences, and help you discover how these impact your life today.

Shahna graduated from Fresno Pacific University Seminary, Fresno, Ca. with a Masters degree in Intercultural Studies as well as a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #101647.
Under supervision of Stacey B. Thacker, MA, LMFT
