Meet Edward K. Parks, MS, AMFT
We are excited to welcome Edward K. Parks, MS, AMFT to our talented team of therapists.
Ed is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples and families experiencing difficulties as a result of PTSD, anxiety, depression and crisis-related matters. In addition, he works with addiction areas to include alcohol, drugs and gambling.
Ed’s treatment approach is to provide a client-centered approach to clients who are seeking unconditional support, understanding and encouragement to address any of life’s challenges. He believes that through the creation of a safe positive environment, clients will progress at a pace suited for them to achieve their goals, for a greater understanding and successful transition to the person they want to be.
Ed has an extensive background in working in tough environments and understands the unique challenges they present. Based upon client needs, other theoretical approaches such as cognitive behavioral and family systems are utilized to foster the best outcome possible. He has a strong belief that no matter what has happened to a person they can overcome the difficulties created as a result by taking the first step of reaching out for help.
As a child of a military family, Ed’s early years were spent overseas, and the remainder was spent growing up in the central valley. His educational background includes both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Marriage Family Child Counseling from California State University, Fresno.
